Candidates may choose training seats in only one state and provide district preferences within that state. Allotment is need-based and subject to availability.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

A degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Graduation Period

Candidates must have passed graduation between 1 January 2023 and 1 September 2026, both dates inclusive.

Age Limit

Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years as on 1 September 2026.

Eligible Date of Birth

Born not earlier than 2 September 1998 and not later than 1 September 2006.

Important Ineligibility Conditions

  • Candidates who have already undergone, are undergoing, or discontinued apprenticeship training due to their own fault are not eligible.
  • Candidates having one year or more of job experience after completing the qualifying educational qualification are not eligible.
  • Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen are not eligible for engagement under this apprentice notification.
  • Apprentices are trainees, not Canara Bank employees, and the Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment after training.

Selection Process

  1. State-wise merit list based on marks/percentage in the 12th standard or Diploma examination.
  2. If percentages are equal, the older candidate is ranked higher.
  3. Document verification.
  4. Test of the opted local language, unless exempted by proof of studying it in Class 10 or 12.
  5. Medical-fitness verification.
No written examination: The notification does not prescribe a separate written test. Merit is based on 12th/Diploma marks submitted in the online application.

Minimum qualifying marks: 60% in 12th/Diploma for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
