Important Dates

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications as on the date of the detailed notification:

• Bachelor's Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects; or
• Bachelor's Degree with Mathematics as a main subject and Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years; or
• Bachelor's Degree with Economics as a main subject and Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years; or
• Bachelor's Degree with Commerce as a main subject and Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years; or
• Bachelor's Degree with Computer Science as a main subject and Statistics as a paper in one, two or all three years.

The degree must be from a recognized university/institution specified in the notification, or an approved foreign university.

Age Limit and Application Fee

Selection Process and Exam Mode

• The recruitment will have a single-level written examination.
• No Screening Test will be conducted, irrespective of the number of applications.
• The examination will be held online in Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) mode.
• If the examination is held in multiple sessions, APPSC may normalize marks according to its notified methodology.
• A Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) scheme is included in the notification.

Paper I - General Studies and Mental Ability

• Current events: international, national and Andhra Pradesh
• General Science, Science & Technology and Information Technology
• Indian and Andhra Pradesh history, geography, polity and governance
• Indian Economy and planning
• Sustainable development, environment and disaster management
• Logical reasoning, analytical ability and data analysis

Paper II - Subject

• Economic concepts, International Economics and Indian Economics
• Financial Accounting and basics of computers/spreadsheets
• Introduction to Statistics and sampling
• Central tendency, dispersion, skewness and kurtosis
• Correlation and measures of relation
• Time series and index numbers

Computer Proficiency Test

The CPT covers computer fundamentals, operating systems, internet and email concepts, office suites, file operations, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and related office-automation skills. Refer to the notification PDF for the detailed topic-wise syllabus.

3. Open the Assistant Statistical Officer online application link.
4. Complete or use APPSC OTPR/registration details as instructed.
5. Enter accurate details, upload documents and pay the applicable fee.
6. Submit the application before 2 November 2026 at 11:59 PM and save a copy.
